The picture is not of the Ramassery idlis though. They look like the Khusboo idli from Annapoorna Hotel in neoghbouring Coimbatore…;-)

Being a resident of the same locality i would add a fact that ramassery idlies have been (and are) exported too… as per the order!!!

Great write-up. Hope to taste it someday.
But i dont understand the embarrassment. i eat idlis till they are finished - which is always too soon for me. i have been known to eat idlis the whole day - from BF till dinner and beyond. even the next day if i can.

so dont worry, eat idlis.

Wonderful write-up. I am staying at Coimbatore. Shall try to visit Ramassery to taste this Idli. In Tamilnadu I have tasted Kushboo Idli.They are famous for the softness of the Idli.
